Climate change effects of biomass and bioenergy systems

Case Studies by Process

 

The case studies below highlight interesting examples of the application of standard methodology to Bioenergy and Carbon Sequestration projects around the world.  These studies estimate the GHG mitigation potential for a range of biomass and bioenergy systems. The goals are:

  • to compare project GHG balances and fossil reference systems;
  • to increase experience in implementation of mitigation projects, and;
  • to make recommendations for optimization of these systems.

    D3: Collation of Existing Case Study Data
    D4: 22 Case Studies were evaluated for relevant data and information, that can be utilized in the BIOMITRE Software tool development. This collation activity focused on the four selected cases from IEA TASK 38: Finnish/Swedish, Croatian, Netherlands, UK.
